Who We Are
Welcome!
GFWC-NC District Four is one of nine districts in the General Federation of Women's Clubs of North Carolina (GFWC-NC). GFWC-NC is part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), an international women's organization, made up of nearly 80,000 members, dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Our district is made up of clubs in the North Carolina counties of Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin.
Our GFWC-NC President Karen Throckmorton has chosen as her special project the GFWC-NC Find your Beat, Join the Rhythm, which highlights the importance and value of the Fine Arts in schools, therapy, in everyday life, and in our communities to promote cohesion and inclusiveness. With this state theme in mind, District Four's theme is the Hum of the Bees is the Voice of the Garden.
If you are already a club member of District Four, you will find this website full of valuable information. If you have come to this site exploring membership opportunities, check out what we're doing and let us know if you would like to join us in our commitment to making our communities even better places to live and work.

Our Work
There are many ways to make communities better, and the clubs of GFWC-NC District Four achieve this goal by focusing on five key areas: Arts and Culture, Civic Engagement and Outreach, Education and Libraries, Environment, and Health and Wellness. Individual clubs select the work they do related to these areas which are called Community Service Programs. Clubs of District Four are passionate about improving our communities, but we also enjoy this work which enhances the lives of others. Take a look at a few shots of some of our clubs.
